Search LinkedIn people

Search LinkedIn people by keywords, optionally limited to 1st, 2nd or 3rd+ connections.

people.search · $0.01 per completed request

When to use it

Use it to find people by role, company or place, or to check who in your network matches.

Request

Field	Type	Notes
`query`	string required	Nonblank search text, trimmed once. Keep the same query for continuation.
`connectionDegree`	1 \| 2 \| 3	Optional native connection scope: 1st, 2nd, or 3rd+ for value 3. Omit for global people search. A no-match is limited to the provider query and scope, not proof of network absence.
`cursor`	string	Opaque cursor from this search. Bound to operation, query, selected account and connectionDegree including its omission. Keep the same query and degree; do not construct or edit the cursor.

HTTP, against the local API:

POST http://127.0.0.1:3447/v1/operations/people.search
Authorization: Bearer <local-token>
Content-Type: application/json

{
  "query": "software engineer Berlin"
}

The same request through the CLI, which adds the local token for you:

relay people "software engineer" --connection-degree 1

Response

The result has operation, account, data, source and completeness. See Results. Fields in data:

Field	Type	Notes

`items`	array of object required	Observed provider-page results in source order.

`items[].location`	string \| null required

For the exact contract, run relay schema.

Price

$0.01 per completed request. No subscription. Known failures are not charged. The $5 welcome credit covers 500 requests.
